Highway 3 is shut from Hope to Manning Park, impacting local traffic. Wildfire activity made both lanes impassable, stopping travel. Travellers now solely use the Coquihalla Highway, avoiding the closure. The fire near Hope is burning northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, releasing thick smoke. Smoke is dense and readily to see, reducing visibility. A second blaze ignited south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire affects 300 hectares. It compelled officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now blocked.
