Kazuma Okamoto now owns a Toronto Blue Jays record. He went down on strikes for the 171st time this season on Friday. That exceeds every single-season strikeout total in franchise history. The game came in Toronto against the Baltimore Orioles on September 11. It was hardly the result he hoped for. Okamoto smashed his 31st home run in the same game. Strikeouts are hardly a selling point for any hitter. Sportsnet and Yahoo Sports noted the feat. The Blue Jays hosted the Orioles that evening.
