Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli headed home on Wednesday. They wrapped up tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. Meanwhile, thousands of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa returned to Japan after missions related to the Iran situation. The Tripoli pulled in at its home port in Okinawa, closing out its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force wrapped up joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit rescued a newborn seal pup that was left on its own.
