Liverpool youngster Lewis Koumas wants added first-team minutes under recently appointed manager Andoni Iraola. His summer tour opportunity comes after Iraola’s first match in charge saw Liverpool defeat Sunderland by 4-2 in Nashville. Sunderland, recently beaten by Liverpool, now appears as a strong loan option for Koumas. The 21-year-old joined Sunderland’s Nashville base this week but may face stiff competition for playing time from other local players. Iraola began his role on July 24, 2026, with Koumas one of several academy graduates pushing for bigger involvement in the first team.
