Ed Husic, Australia’s Industry and Science Minister, condemned Labour’s internal culture after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza was rejected.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese reportedly described his outburst at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unperturbed by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a freezer, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed unsuccessful tries to push the party to formally recognise events in Gaza as genocide.
Leaked files and internal files were later filed that revealed deep divisions within Labour’s ranks over policy and direction.
