Ed Harris complained early on about his limited part in the series in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was useless and wanted to leave. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he exited the set. He later agreed to return for Season 2 to rejoin for the sequel. The show’s boss tweaked the narrative and gave his character more to do. That change made Harris opt to stay. Deadline now says he will reprise the role.
