In California, a lesser 2.1 quake struck near Ocotillo Wells the day before. Strong aftershocks continue to strike Venezuela after the country’s recent major quakes. Numerous residents are trapped under debris as rescue and medical teams operate around the clock. PAHO says hospitals need help now to cope with additional crises.
