CenterPoint Energy confirmed that personal data of customers was exposed in a data breach. Class action lawsuits were filed over the incident. The company said services are still running and that customers' personal information was obtained.
In a separate matter, the FBI notified Springfield officials that a school cyber attack involved a data breach that possibly exposed Social Security numbers. Records of students and staff were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI gave the warning to local officials.
